Welcome to the #iteachmsu Commons
You teach MSU. We, the Academic Advancement Network, The Graduate School, and The Hub for Innovation in Learning and Technology, believe that a wide educator community (faculty, TAs, ULAs, instructional designers, academic advisors, et al.) makes learning happen across MSU. But, on such a large campus, it can be difficult to fully recognize and leverage this community’s teaching and learning innovations. To address this challenge, the #iteachmsu Commons provides an educator-driven space for sharing teaching resources, connecting across educator networks, and growing teaching practice.

#iteachmsu Commons content may be discipline-specific or transdisciplinary, but will always be anchored in teaching competency areas. You will find short posts, blog-like articles, curated playlists, and a campus-wide teaching and learning events calendar. We cultivate this commons across spaces. And through your engagement, we will continue to nurture a culture of teaching and learning across MSU and beyond. 
How to login
To begin creating content of your own on the #iteachmsu Commons, simply click the green Login button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Your account will automatically be provisioned after successfully logging into the MSU Net ID login prompt. Currently, only authenticated MSU faculty, staff and students can create content on the #iteachmsu Commons. However, external users are free to browse and share public facing content without logging into the site.

Before youth can be accepted as important players in school decision making, the concept of student voice must gain acceptance among powerful stakeholders in the school. Using social movement theory as a lens, this article examines the consequences of positioning a student voice effort inside or outside of school walls.

Student roles and responsibilities. Classrooms will be most effective when they are structured to maximize students’ voices and participation.
Classroom norms. Norms and expectations should take into account different cultural and communication styles, gender differences, language needs, and the desire to challenge stereotypes. Students should be involved in setting classroom norms to generate buy-in.

Without saying a word, classrooms send messages about diversity, relationship building, communication, and the roles of teachers and students. The classroom setup should be student-centered. Specifics will vary from teacher to teacher and class to class, but common elements include the following:

Classroom milieu. Classrooms should be decorated with multicultural images that mirror students’ backgrounds and showcase the diversity of our society.
Arrangement of furniture and supplies. The arrangement will look different depending on age group and subject, but all teachers can draw on these goals when setting up a classroom: supporting collaboration, fostering dialogue, encouraging ownership, and ensuring comfort.

Skilled educators accept responsibility for planning and delivering instruction that brings the five critical components described below to life for all learners.
At times, external factors beyond the classroom walls will affect an educator’s ability to sustain all five critical components. Skilled educators find ways wherever possible to ensure that these five critical components are present in all aspects of classroom culture.

1) SaaS is easy to buy
SaaS pricing is based on a monthly fee or annual fee subscription, so it allows organizations to access business functionality at a low cost, which is less than licensed applications.
Unlike traditional software, which is sold as a licensed based with an up-front cost (and often an optional ongoing support fee), SaaS providers are generally pricing the applications using a subscription fee, most commonly a monthly or annual fee.
2. One to Many
SaaS services are offered as a one-to-many model means a single instance of the application is shared by multiple users.
3. Less hardware required for SaaS
The software is hosted remotely, so organizations do not need to invest in additional hardware.
4. Low maintenance required for SaaS
Software as a service removes the need for installation, set-up, and daily maintenance for the organizations. The initial set-up cost for SaaS is typically less than the enterprise software. SaaS vendors are pricing their applications based on some usage parameters, such as the number of users using the application. So SaaS does easy to monitor and automatic updates.
5. No special software or hardware versions required
All users will have the same version of the software and typically access it through the web browser. SaaS reduces IT support costs by outsourcing hardware and software maintenance and support to the IaaS provider.
6. Multidevice support
SaaS services can be accessed from any device such as desktops, laptops, tablets, phones, and thin clients.

SaaS services easily integrate with other software or services through standard

Managing applications and distribution becomes a typical task for IT departments. The installation mechanism differs from application to application. Some programs require certain helper applications or frameworks and these applications may have a conflict with existing applications.
Software virtualization is just like virtualization but able to abstract the software installation procedure and create virtual software installations.
Virtualized software is an application that will be "installed" into its own self-contained unit.
Advantages of Software Virtualization
1) Client Deployments Become Easier:
Copying a file to a workstation or linking a file in a network then we can easily install virtual software.
2) Easy to manage:
Manage updates becomes a simpler task. You need to update at one place and deploy the updated virtual application to all clients.
